Overcoming objections:

Too expensive: If you cannot pay, we have donors who have given us scholarship money. We want to you attend and will bend over backwards to help you out. To request a scholarship, contact Carrie (carrie@reclaimingthemind.org)

I can’t attend all the sessions (Credo House students): Well, you have to. But we have provided a way for you to make up all of the sessions you might miss. You can either borrow the DVDs or watch all the videos for free here: www.reclaimingthemind.org/ttp/media. You can even join us live online if you are out of town.

What about my family (Credo House students)? As long as they are 13 or older, you can bring them. Doing The Theology Program as a family is a wonderful way to engage in Christian discipleship together.

I am not smart enough and have no background: The Theology Program is not easy, but the difficulty only comes because we are going to make you think. We don’t assume any theological background at all. We take you one step at a time.

SPECIAL INVITATION: If you are unsure and just want to see what it is all about, you are more than welcome to attend the first session as a guest. We would love to have you. Come see what it is all about either at the Credo House or online.

“If it is your desire to understand what you believe and why you believe it, then The Theology Program is for you. Here you will learn the basic principles of how to think biblically. TTP takes theology from the top shelf and places it where it belongs–where everyone can reach it.”

The assumption here is that people believe certain doctrines that they do NOT understand. My assumption is: we can not believe something we do not understand. I don’t FULLY understand the Trinity, but the parts I do understand, these I do believe or have faith in. But the parts I do NOT understand, I don’t believe them, since I can’t put my faith in something I don’t understand. Where am I off here?

Please adhere to the following rules to prevent banishment to Siberia (no offense to our Siberian visitors):

  • Do not use the blog to promote yourself, as your surrogate blog, or as an advertisement. I am sure you are interesting and have some really nice things to say, but you can get your own blog.
  • Do not call authors out for debate. You must count the cost (Lk. 14:31). You don’t want to get whipped up on anyway.
  • Keep your comments short. Like when your comments are longer than the blog, that is too long.
  • Read All 6 Rules

Theological Word of the Day

Heuristic Theology
[hyoo-ris''-tik] (Greek heuriskein, “to discover”) A theological method that seeks to learn truth in a non-dogmatic fashion. In heuristics, learners are encouraged to explore ideas without the use of a set formula that will necessarily lead to presupposed conclusions. It will often involve a setting aside of traditional understanding in order to think “outside the [...] continue reading
