Let me add one more testimony...

My husband and I are about to sign up for our fourth class, (and we're lucky enough to take them locally) and can honestly, and without exaggeration, testify that this program has changed our relationships with the Lord. It has challenged me to go beyond "well, I believe it 'cause my preacher says it" to a deeper understanding of God based on scripture, and informed by doctrine and church history (the latter had been the missing link). As Lisa R. said, Michael and Rhone go out of their way to present differing viewpoints and let you draw your own conclusion. To be honest, it has been challenging. I have really wrestled with some of the tougher issues of our faith that are so often glossed over on Sunday mornings. But ultimately, my faith is stronger now than before, which I believe is Michael and Rhone's point! These classes are well worth your investment of time and money (and since we have to get a babysitter to go, we are certainly shelling out the money)!

Oops...I should have said " a program like this". And to further clarify that the
Intro to Theology class did not solidify my move because it told me I was
right. But it provides a process for US to determine what we believe. And
that's the beauty of it. This is not a program that seeks to indoctrinate and
I have been impressed with the fairness of treament given to opposing
theological views.

So stop hemming and hawing and GO FOR IT!

I wholeheartedly agree with the first comment here. I have taken 2 classes
thus far at my church in MA and will be taking Soteriology in the fall. The best
part is that it gives you a forum to think, to wrestle and ask without seemingly
undermining your faith. I had already made a significant church move from
pentacostal/word faith with a sprinkle of latter rain to a solid, reform oriented
theology by the time I took the first class. It so solidified that very unnerving
move and let me know I was on the right track.

I have said often "every believer should take these classes" and I will continue
to be a walking ad. I had the opportunity to advertise to my former pastor,
who though a very smart man, believes that such "information" is academic
and therefore, anti-spiritual. And it further convinced me that programs like
this that are appealing and accessible to everyone, are desparately needed.

The Theology Program is awesome, and I don't use that word lightly. TTP has changed the way I think about God and the world, it has shaped how I do Bible study, it has opened my eyes to the wonder of Christ and God's Plan, and it has ignited my passion to bring the gospel of grace to the world, practically and faithfully.

Perhaps the coolest part of TTP is the fact that the classes are Irenic, meaning non-combative in their presentation of differing viewpoints, and actually attempt to show the best argument for each side of an issue. There were many classes I walked away saying "I don't know WHAT to believe!!!"

The Theology Program is practical, accessible to EVERYONE, and in my opinion should be required classes for all Christians. God bless!
